The Psychology of Selling: Introduction – 2

Moving into Management

Tracy states his sales increased so high that his company made him a sales manager. The company told him to find people wanting to get into sales and share his tactics with them.

Tracy began recruiting salespeople off the street and in newspaper ads. He showed them his methodology and process of selling. Many of those salespeople are millionaires and multimillionaires today.

Be the best

Discovery of the “Law of Cause and Effect” changed Tracy’s life. The law states: there is cause for every effect, that everything happens for a reason. Success is not an accident. Failure is not an accident either. In fact, success is predictable. It leaves tracks.

A great rule called out by Tracy: “If you do what other successful people do, over and over again, nothing in the world can stop you from eventually getting the same results that they do. And if you don’t nothing can help you.”

Be sure to realize that everyone in the top 10 percent in sales today started in the bottom 10 percent. What these people did to get to the top was learn from the experts. They discovered what other top people were doing to be successful, and they did the same things themselves, again and again, until they got the same results. This is able to be reproduced. You can do the same.

Use what you learn

Alike a treadmill, the more it is used, the more results the user will experience. The same with the strategies and techniques within Tracy’s book. The question is not whether the principles will work, for they are tested and proven. The focus is that the more the methods within are used, the better a person will get at them and the faster results can be achieved. By practicing the information to be introduced, you will move into the top 10 percent of sales professionals in your field. and become one of the highest-paid people in the world.

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

– Napoleon Hill

What an introductory chapter. Just like the company had Tracy train people off the street to become top salespeople, I can see us readers of his book being the next group of individuals to become millionaires and even multimillionaires. The introduction communicates to me that anyone is capable of achieving top performer status and success in sales simply by following the methodology Tracy shares within the pages of his book.

The Law of Cause and Effect is already in motion by tuning into the pages of the book. For the cause of following along with the book leads to the effect of success in a sales career. Successful people learn from the experts who came before them, and Tracy is giving us the recipe for success right here.

Cultivating the habit of bettering skills in selling must become part of the lifestyle. Anyone experiencing the results of a treadmill has incorporated the practice into their active lifestyle, and so must we do with incorporating the habit of practicing the methodology shared by Tracy into our sales tactics.
